How can you lose weight with hypnotherapy?

You might have heard that hypnosis can help you with losing some weight but do you know how does it help? Well, I do not have a magic wand; I cannot turn you into a slim marathon runner who hates chocolate but loves lettuce. I can help you to put your mind to it. You`ve probably heard the expression, “if you put your mind to it, you can achieve everything!”. Well, this is how hypnotherapy works.

Hypnotherapy is a very effective tool for weight loss because it addresses why you are overeating. These causes are often in the subconscious mind. Through suggestions, I will invite your subconscious to strengthen your commitment and also to find the reasons behind your overeating. Using integrative therapy methods, we can relearn behaviour patterns and change your thoughts and your relationship with food. Mindfulness is part of the treatment, so you can feel confident and in control of your food choices.

When you are in a very relaxed state (or trance), we can reach your subconscious mind, and that state makes you more susceptible to change.  

Kirsh in 1996 found that people who used hypnosis lost twice as much weight as those who dieted only. Gelo et al. in 1024 worked with 60 obese women who lost weight and improved their eating habits and body image by using hypnotherapy. Juredini`s client also successfully lost weight in 2017.

It does not mean that you can skip your exercise classes and eat whatever you want. The opposite is true; hypnotherapy helps you to stick to your exercise routine and consider your food choices. Hypnotherapy addresses the subconscious, and then it helps you to make conscious choices.

What can you expect during hypnotherapy? 

At first, we will talk about your emotions and your relationship with food. Then the sessions will be individualised according to your need and issues. You will be asked to sit or lie down in a comfortable position and relax with your eyes closed while I guide you with instructions and suggestions that can help you reach your goals.
